Today is December 12th, 2012. 12/12/12
This is pretty exciting for some people, others it's just another day at the office.
Think about it. the next time we'll have a 12/12/12 is on December 12th, 2112. That's a hundred years from now and most of us who are living today will (sadly) not be there. If you do happen to live until then, then I congratulate you in advance, for that will be a long and hopefully fulfilling life.
The holiday season is upon us, and it's a time where there are carolers, lights in the trees, and a wonderful, joyous time of the year. One has to wonder why it's all of a sudden this time of year. Why, for every single day of the year, are people not as happy? Does society these days really need all the materialistic ideals? That the only reason we're so happy is because we might get the latest technology, the newest fashion trend, or the biggest wrapped box underneath the Christmas tree.
However, family meals are always a happy time for everybody to be able to say hello to the grandchildren, meet up with the cousins, and hug the aunt and uncle. Don't forget the cats and dogs too!
It's rather an uplifting time of the year. Be grateful for the people you have, not for the technology you own.
Enjoy the time you have with your family, whoever that may be, and don't forget to be happy. For I've heard this quote many times, "Life is a Privilege, not a Right."
I am grateful for my pug, Oreo. He's the reason why my days are that much happier and he keeps me sane. I love this pug more than anybody else in the world. He's my rock, and he's awfully adorable. I love you Bubsy.
