Would you want to know what someone thinks about you?

The automatic answer for this is yes. Yes, most people want to know what others think of them. It's a natural instinct I think. Does he think I'm fat? Does she think I'm obnoxious? Do they think I'm a jerk?

But, if you think about it. Would you want to really know if that person doesn't like you, but they pretend they do?

It's hard to tell, really, since we actually can't read people's mind and we don't know for sure whether someone we love or care about loves us back. Is that a sign of insecurity creeping up on us?

I've been thinking of that lately, and it's dreadful. It's just a dreadful thought, that people say one thing, but really mean a whole other thing.

Would we really be better off knowing what everybody thought about us and everything that's on their mind?
Probably not.

If everybody in this whole big world knew every single little detail that people dislike about them, then we'd have a pretty depressed world.

On the other hand, if everybody knew every single good thing people like about them, then we'd have a very happy world.

It's a double edged sword. Well, sort of. One side is very good, the other is very bad.

It's a thought to keep in mind, the next time you think "Oh, I wish I knew what they thought of me."
Maybe the reason why their called somebody's thoughts is because people think them, they're secret to them (unless they feel like sharing).

Someone's own thoughts are very powerful. They can change the world with one small idea, they can make so many people smile and laugh, they can make people cry, sing, dance, ache. All these emotions coming from just one small place.

I think.....
